Champions' Challenge: Halftime Assessment
Print
RSS
I wanted to take a timeout and assess the “Champions’ Challenge” now that we are a halfway through it. It is great for me to study the life of Jesus once again. As I have studied the chapters I think I have come to a greater appreciation for how the Holy Spirit inspired these men to write God’s Word. God the Holy Spirit used their specific personalities and talents to write the good news of Jesus, the Christ. I see to a greater extent again how all the accounts of Jesus Christ correspond to one another and complement each other. How about you? Is there anything, in general, that you have taken from the Gospel of Matthew so far? Is there anything you may like me to emphasize more or de-emphasize as I continue? One point I intend to try and add is a little more life application relevancy or commentary to my blog entries, besides the explanation of each chapter.
I would also like to thank all of you who have and are participating in this Bible study format! I know that for some it is a new experience (including myself), so it is fun! Yet, at the same time it can be frustrating-I spent 30+ minutes just trying to figure out how to answer my first message/comment. Right now, I spend about two hours (give or take) on the work for each daily entry (including answers questions/looking at comments). There is certainly a learning curve involved. I want to apologize for not always posting answers to questions in the message/comment section of each daily entry in as timely of a manner as you or I want. Please forgive me!
I thought it would be helpful to all of you to know what I feel are my objectives and priorities are in leading this blog. Please let me share them with you:
Goal #1 is to study each new chapter daily for my own spiritual growth and renewal, just as all of you.
Goal #2 is to write a corresponding blog entry/devotion for each new chapter.
Goal #3 is to answer as many of your questions about the chapters/entries in a timely manner as is possible (If there is an appropriate answer someone has responded with I may not answer. I certainly do plan on looking at all the questions, answers, and comments so that I may answer if I feel like I could share something more or in any different way.)
May the Lord Jesus bless the rest of your study on the account of his life from the Gospel of Matthew! In Christ, Pastor Andy
